Temporary Structures FAQs

A temporary structure is a non-permanent building or shelter – such as a marquee, stretch tent, pagoda, or covered walkway – designed to be assembled, used, and dismantled easily.

Temporary structures are commonly used for corporate events, exhibitions, hospitality suites, and seasonal functions, providing high-quality, short-term venues without the need for permanent construction.

They are classed as short-term installations that are not permanently fixed to the ground, typically remaining in place for days, weeks, or a few months before being safely removed.

We supply a full range of temporary event structures, including:

  • Clearspan marquees (ideal for corporate functions, product launches, and hospitality)
  • Stretch tents (for a relaxed or outdoor atmosphere)
  • Pagodas and walkway canopies (great for entrances or connecting structures)

Each structure can be tailored to your event size, design, and branding requirements.

Temporary structures can be hired for anything from a single day to several weeks or months, depending on your event needs. We also offer longer-term hires for semi-permanent corporate installations such as site offices, hospitality pavilions, or training spaces.

In most cases, planning permission is not required for temporary structures or corporate marquees if they’re in place for less than 28 days.

However, if your marquee will be installed for longer periods, used for commercial purposes, or located on public or sensitive land, you may need permission. Local planning regulations can vary, so it’s always best to check in advance.

Our team can advise and liaise with local authorities where necessary to ensure your event complies with all relevant guidelines.

Most of our private hire marquees are covered under our standard terms. On payment of the damage waiver (as detailed on your quote), you are covered for any loss or damage to our equipment. Please note, you are liable for the first £500 + VAT of any claim.

We also recommend clients have public liability or event insurance for complete peace of mind.

All our structures comply with British and European Safety Standards, including wind-loading and fire-retardant certification.

Health & Safety documentation, including RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), is provided for every project.
