The event
18th Birthday Party in Sonning, Berkshire
The brief
The customer had originally booked large marquee for her daughter’s 18th birthday party. Sadly, due to COVID-19, they had to postpone the big event to 2021.
However, with the ever-changing circumstances, it became possible to throw a smaller ‘mini party’ for 30 close family and friends this year.
Initially the group were just going to have drinks outside, but due to Britain’s changeable weather they decided a small marquee might be wise…and they were right!
The solution
We installed small 6m square marquee in the garden of the family home, on their lawn near the patio area. A mixture of partially open and clear sides allowed great views of the garden yet offered shelter for guests on a rainy day.
Inside the marquee, we provided tables and chairs in a ‘U’ shape to create an inclusive feeling. A bar was also put up; decorated as ‘Belle’s Bar’ in honour of the birthday girl.
Party lighting, balloons, and disco balls set the scene for celebration.
