18th Birthday Party in Sonning, Berkshire
The brief
The customer had originally booked a large marquee for her daughter’s 18th birthday party. Sadly, due to COVID-19, they had to postpone the big event to 2021.
However, with the ever-changing circumstances, it became possible to throw a smaller ‘mini party’ for 30 close family and friends.
Initially, the plan was to enjoy drinks outside. But knowing the unpredictability of British weather, they wisely decided to hire a birthday party marquee – ensuring the celebration went ahead whatever the skies had in store.
The solution
We installed a 6m square marquee on the family’s lawn, positioned close to the patio to keep guests connected to the house. Clear and partially open sides gave everyone views of the garden while providing much-needed shelter from the rain.
Inside the birthday party marquee, tables and chairs were arranged in a U-shape to encourage conversation and togetherness. We added a bar, complete with signage for “Belle’s Bar”, which became a focal point of the evening.
Lighting, disco balls, and balloons added the finishing touches, transforming the marquee into a party space worthy of a milestone birthday.
