Creative ideas for Autumn and Winter weddings in Berkshire

People go crazy for a summer wedding, but we think autumn and winter weddings in Berkshire and Hampshire are just as beautiful – if not more so. The changing seasons present you with an opportunity to be creative from location to décor, ensuring it’s a day you’ll never forget. Although the weather may present its challenges, Time Marquees caters for every eventuality so all you need to worry about is remembering those two very important words – “I do”!

Go back in time

If you find yourself leaning more towards vintage/rustic décor, then an autumn wedding is right up your street. Impress your guests and go back in time with a Victorian theme – perfect for brides-to-be who have their heart set on a classic palette with pastel pinks, lilac, purple and cream. With the traditional Victorian flower being the rose, make this a key part of your décor including other flowers such as pansies, hyacinths and tulips.

Make your guests feel special with rustic key placeholders and light up your tables with candelabras or even LED candles. All this magic can be created within our wedding marquees with either beautifully pleated or flat white linings.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–Classically autumn

Keep it classic with vibrant autumn colours such as burnt orange, faded yellow and brown. In line with the season, pumpkins make eye-catching centre pieces and have many other uses; fill hollow pumpkins with ice and use as drink coolers, vessels for confetti – or serve your guests pumpkin soup as a starter option. Line the inside of your marquee with orange, round lanterns; these come in a variety of options and can be hung by us or for the budget conscious, hung by the bride or groom.

Have a bit of fun with your guests and set up an apple bobbing station and for younger guests collect a bunch of fallen leaves and set up a craft table. Leaves can be a consistent motif throughout your wedding; on invites, place settings, your cake or you could even get married in the great outdoors under a leaf-entwined arch!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————Create your very own Winter Wonderland

This time of year is perfect if you want to go all out with the glitz and glam. Getting the catering just right is important for any wedding but this festive time of year means you can really theme it up! Indulge guests with roasted meats, homemade mince pies, hot chocolate, mulled wine and all other sorts of treats. Plus, for those who want to like adventure and want to brave it outside why not set up a fire pit and toast marshmallows?

You needn’t worry about getting from A to B as the Time Marquees team will build walkways to the main marquee, keeping them protected from the elements. A boarded floor will also be set up by us to firm up soft and waterlogged ground. A solid door can also be fitted to the entrance of the marquee, keeping the warmth in and adding a bit of extra sophistication – adorn accordingly. Additionally, keep family and friends warm with our indirect air heaters – we have a variety of sizes to work in any marquee (these are relatively quiet and sit outside the marquee so are unseen).

For that Winter Wonderland feel, black out your marquee ceiling for a twinkly starlight roof and add hang white lanterns or opt for clear a roof if you want to let the last of the winter sun in. Decorate your marquee with bright red berries, pinecones and mistletoe to set the scene – think silver, burgundy, deep greens, sapphire blues in velvet and silk. You could even have miniature Christmas trees set up around your marquee decked with fairy lights!

If that isn’t enough inspiration for you then check out these famous couples who also said “I do” at winter time.
